A BIT OF HISTORY ON LEE'S
SERVICE CENTRE:
-
In the summer of 1981 Jim & Lorrie Lee
purchased the John Halbert Garage building and on Nov. 1st started a
general repair shop called South West Agrimotive.
-
In 1983 we changed the name to Lee’s
Service Centre and extended our parts inventory with more
Agricultural parts.
-
In 1984 we took on our first equipment
line Belarus Tractor. Over the next 5 years we added more equipment
lines including CCIL, Vicon, Gehl, Yardman Lawn Equipment, Zedor
tractors and Bush Hog, and hired a couple of mechanics
-
In 1989 we got a chance to sell the Halbert building so they could build the Centennial lodge. We built
a new, larger shop at the west end of town. Here we took on the Agco
Hesston and New Idea equipment lines. As CCIL and Vicon had gone out
off business.
-
In 1994 we added the Universal tractor
and Lamborghini tractor lines We dropped the
Agco lines in 1998 when we got the Highline/Vermeer lines.
-
In 1999 the Lamborghini parent company
decided to only market the Deutz-Fahr line in North America so we
switched to Deutz-Fahr tractors.
-
Over the years we continued to increase
the size of our Ag Parts stock. We added Feed Rite cattle feed,
Electric Fencing Supplies and Poly twine and net wrap. With
the help of the internet our market area has increased for used
equipment, we have shipped car loads of used Belarus tractors to
Egypt and we have sold many other pieces all across Canada and the
US.
