LOCATION
Lower Fishing Lake is
located in the Narrow Hills Provincial Park, about 150 km NE of
Prince Albert, SK, Canada. Narrow Hills Provincial Park is 250
square miles of forested area. The forest is a mixture of spruce
and pine with stands of poplar, birch, tamarack and willow. The
sandy forest floor grows many varieties of plants, shrubs and
bushes, including many berry varieties.

Groceries,
confectionary items, clothing, hardware, fishing tackle, bait,
ice, fuel and oil are just some of the items available. Visa,
MasterCard, American Express and Interac services are available
for your convenience.
LIVING QUARTERS -
1,380 ft²
Three bedroom home
with a den. Includes kitchen/dining room, living room, bathroom,
utility room and storage room. Living quarters are attached to
the store.
CABIN RENTALS
There a total of 7
cabins, equipped with dishes, pots, pans and utensils. Each
cabin also has a fridge, stove and electric or propane heaters.
Large cabins have microwaves as well. The three small cabins
that sleep four have a bedroom with two double beds in them. The
four large cabins sleep six and are two or three bedroom units.
There is a centralized shower house for clients only. Each cabin
has its' own fire pit and picnic table.
RV SITES
There are 23 seasonal
RV sites. The clients use their units in the summer and are
allowed to keep their trailers here for the winter. There are
approximately 40 people on a waiting list!
BOAT RENTALS
There are two 14'
aluminum boats, equipped with 15HP motors. Lifejackets are
provided. Canoe and paddle board rentals are also available.
SEPTIC TANK HAULING
There are two septic
trucks that are part of the resort business, hauling sewer for
the resort and for most of the cabin owners. This brings a
substantial income for the resort.
FISHING
Lower Fishing Lake is
approximately 2 km wide by 3 km long and is a fisherman's dream!
There are northern pike, stocked walleye and whitefish in the
lake. There are over 50 lakes, several of them stocked as well,
within an hour of the Lower Fishing Lake. These lakes combine to
offer the greatest variety of fish in any region of
Saskatchewan. They include: perch, lake trout, rainbow trout,
brown trout, brook trout, cutthroat trout, Kokanee salmon,
splake and a new species called tiger trout.
SWIMMING
Lower Fishing Lake is
excellent for swimming. The beautiful natural sand beach
stretches out into the lake gradually with no sharp drop-off.
The huge sand beach offers space for many activities including
beach volleyball, sand castle building or soaking up the rays!
Certified Red Cross swimming lessons are offered here in the
summer with Pine Ridge Resort as the registration point.
NATURE LOVERS
Visitors can bring
their cameras, canoe, bike or hiking boots and enjoy the
beautiful scenery and peace and quiet that Lower Fishing Lake
has to offer. The large variety of landscapes and wilderness is
sure to impress.
The Narrow Hills Esker
was formed thousands of years ago by glacier movement. The Esker
is a huge ridge of land that towers above the landscape around
it, and you can drive on it with a vehicle. The Esker offers the
most renowned and breathtakingly spectacular view imaginable.
Many hiking and cross country trails begin here. You really have
to see it to believe it!!
TRAILS
There are many trails
in and around Lower Fishing Lake. Trails can be used for hiking,
biking and ATVing in the summer and for cross-country skiing and
snowmobiling in the winter. The trails offer varying degrees of
difficulty and length. The snowmobile trails are approximately
350 km in length and are well-groomed and marked.
CAMPING
Since Lower Fishing
Lake is in Narrow Hills Provincial Park, Saskatchewan
Environment looks after the campground. There are over 80 sites
that are electrical and non-electrical. The campers bring added
revenue to the resort.
PRIVATE CABINS
There are 95 cabin
owners in the core area of the park with revenue to the resort.
FIRE PROTECTION BASE
We are fortunate to
have a fire protection base located in the core area of the
lake. There is a base kitchen for the people at the base and
living quarters as well.
