ABOUT THE COMMUNITY: Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre is in the heart of Saskatchewan's Old Northwest, one of the most culturally-rich areas of the province. The West Central Tourism web site outlines activities and points of interest in the area, many of which are in close proximity to Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre. One of Saskatchewan's most unique attractions is the mysterious Crooked Trees, located only 15 minutes from Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre. A trip to the Crooked Trees is truly unforgettable - a "must-see" for anyone visiting the area. The City of North Battleford, only 35 kilometers from the resort, boasts several first-class facilities, including golf courses, a casino, art galleries, museums, an indoor swimming pool, shopping malls, theatres, and more. Redberry Lake, a short drive from Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre, is an excellent site for the eco-tourist. Redberry Lake has been designated by UNESCO as the site of a Biosphere Reserve. It is also host to a Pelican Project Research Station and a Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Redberry Lake Regional Park offers swimming, boating, fishing, and golfing. Also located within a 40-minute drive of Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre is the Battlefords Provincial Park which offers a range of recreational facilities, golfing, and a nearby lake for swimming, fishing, water-skiing and boating. For the fishing enthusiast, there are several fishing holes located within 20 kilometers of Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventure Centre. For more information on what to see and do in our region, or in Saskatchewan, visit the Saskatchewan Tourism web site. |
