Melfort has a population of approximately 6,500 persons and provides all amenities to its residents. The trading area population is 60,000+. Often called the "gateway to the north", traffic counts reach as high as 7,000 vehicles per day!

Melfort also boasts the highest assessed agricultural land in Canada. Manufacturing operations and a meat packing plant are 30 miles away.

A must to visit is the new $9,000,000 Northern Lights Palace, an indoor leisure centre with water slide, wave pool, sauna, hot tub, and multi-purpose arena; a challenging 18 hole grass greens golf course, agricultural research station and just minutes to the north is Wapiti Regional Park with both summer and winter recreation.
