Welcome to Ca's Català 'The House 0f the Catalan' is located at the foot of the hill beneath the old church in Santa Eulalia del Rio.  Its owners, Jill and Malcolm (Kim) Brown offer you a delightfully tranquil oasis from which you can set forth to explore the beautiful island of Ibiza the whole year round.

Ca's Català is just a moments walk from downtown Santa Eulalia. Many fine coffee houses and restaurants featuring European cuisine along with the English style pubs and local tapas bars provide welcome relaxation and enjoyment. Nearby, the clean sandy shore of the Mediterranean Sea offers warm sunshine the year round and aquatic sports from April to November.

In the days of the Roman Empire, Ibiza was highly valued for its salt, figs and wine.  Situated in the southerly part of the western Mediterranean, the Algerian coast of north Africa could be seen and sailing ships passing back and forth to the Straights of Gibraltar would be monitored.  The Barbary pirates entrenched themselves on the little island of Formentera, just a few miles off the south coast of Ibiza and plundered shipping from that point.  In 1247, the Catalans from eastern Spain, invaded Ibiza and took it over, thus ousting the pirates.

There was no airport on Ibiza until the mid 1950's and visitors had to come over by boat from the mainland of Spain.  The tourist industry did not begin to blossom until the mid 1960's and today Ibiza in renowned world wide for its extravagant and amazing nightclub life, beautiful beaches and phenomenal spectrum of visitors from all over the globe.  It is also praised for its wonderful restaurants, bars and incredible Mediterranean food and delicious wines. Its scenic beauty is fantastic, with flowers, trees, fruits and delightful coastlines. There is plenty to do while visiting Ibiza including scuba diving, golf, mountain biking, shopping at the famous 'hippie market' and just plain relaxing on a sunny beach.

There are twelve sizable bedrooms in Ca's Català. Single or double, with a sitting room that is fresh and cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter.  The dining salon is bright and spacious and breakfasts there make a wonderful start to the day.  There is a private swimming pool, with bar, set in the midst of a tropical-like, walled garden.

Jill and Kim have been developing their hotel over the past 15 years into a wonderfully relaxing and serene holiday hideaway.  They offer you an extremely personalized service and like to think that although you may arrive as a stranger you will definitely leave as a 'friend'.  They take pride in their little hotel, making sure that everything is scrupulously clean and attractive.  Comfort is an absolute 'must' and you will find the beds wonderful to sleep on, especially in the hot weather, when the ceiling fan cools like a magical breeze.

Some rooms are with double beds, others have twin beds. Please let us know your preference.
