For years trucks have serviced the automobile mechanic trades with hand tools – Skookum President and Founder Rob McDonald understood that if mechanics had come to rely on the ‘tool truck’ showing up at their shop that other trades would respond favourably to a similar service.

Skookum Tools sources quality products from reputable vendors, providing customers with easy affordable access to the supplies they need to get the job done. Backed by over 20 years of sales and management experience in the industrial supply industry, Skookum provides industrial consumable goods and sharpening services to the wood, metal and fiberglass trades, including:

A: Skookum Tools…'the tool store at your door’ has developed a unique format, system and marketing plan for the distribution of cutting tools, sharpening services, shop supplies and related consumable products to industrial users.

Q: What experience is required?
A: Operating any business requires common sense, commitment, the ability to communicate with customers, a friendly helpful attitude and a strong work ethic. Previous experience in customer service, basic sales, and/or in any ‘trade’ would be helpful.

Q: How do I know if a Skookum franchise is right for me?

A: Ideally you will need $20,000 to $30,000 in start-up capital for your Skookum Tools franchise. Q: How long a term is the Franchise Agreement?
A: The initial term is for five years with an option to renew.

Q: Can the business be sold or transferred during the term of the Agreement?
A: The short answer is ‘Yes’. Some conditions apply and the franchisor retains the right of first refusal to purchase the business.
