2920 Jackson Road
Duncan, British Columbia
4,100 ft² 5 Bedroom Home on 7 Acres

Our farm is called "The Natural Stone Arts Studio Ranch" and this very name is carved into a large slab of white-gray granite 12' long x 3' high x 6" thick.

We have lived here now by God’s Grace for 36 blessed years and love to stay for another ten years or more, and That may happen if that is the supreme will of our Heavenly Father. However both my wife and myself are having certain physical handicaps that would make it more attractive to go a bit smaller. Situated near popular Cowichan Station, this superb 7 acre farm with Southern exposure features a handsome 5 bedroom and one office/library, 3 bathroom family home as well as numerous, substantial outbuildings. Large dining room with fireplace and large kitchen with dining room and solarium.

  • solid main barn with hayloft - 56' x 46'

  • machine shed/workshop - 72' x 24'

  • quonset hut shed/shop - 35' x 42' x 15’ high'

A brand new yard light has just been installed and our yard is mostly blacktopped.

The property has in the past been used for animal husbandry (12 cows, 70 pigs, 15 sheep, 3 horses, meat birds and 850 laying hens).  There is lots of hay and a large vegetable garden and orchard.  We have juiced and stored (annually) 300 quarts of home made apple juice.  The barn features an 8' x 4' walk-in cooler that stored our eating apples, eggs, vegetables and milk.  Fields are presently in hay and no chemicals have been used. It should qualify for "organic" designation.  We have 6 acres in hay and 2 years ago we mowed the fields at July 1 and took off 600 bales of hay at 40-50 lbs per bale.

The property is fenced and cross-fenced.  We Have very good neighbours and enjoy the fresh air and small groups of deer roaming around as well as the beautiful view of Saltspring Island and Maple Mountain.

Our home offers 3 woodstoves graced with custom stonework and a feature fireplace designed with 70 different kind of stones collected from the Mexico border right up to northern BC.  The open living space is ideal for both the growing and extended family.  New built-in vacuum system upstairs and down.  2 good, clean water wells with 2 new pumps.  Oil home heating furnace.  2 new hot water tanks.  The roof on our home is new as are the majority of the barn and machine shed (35 year fiberglass shingles).  We ourselves heat 95% with wood.  We have a beautiful solarium, with plants and one fig tree, that has been decorated with my artistic stone, brick, slate and ornamental wood and steelcraft.  We remodeled our whole basement and is decorated and pleasant in colours with all new carpeting.  Our home is features all new plumbing.  Our large garage has a new, very quiet garage door opener.  I made hot and cold water taps in a insulated housing in the carport.  Here my wife pre-washes my work clothes in an old antique wringer washer, before putting the laundry in her clean washer and dryer.
